It is my great honor and pleasure to extend you a warm invitation to participate in the 2012 Environmental Conference and Exhibition on “The Role of Private & Public Sector in Development, Environment and Sustainability”, to be held during November 12-14, 2012 in the State of Kuwait. This prestigious Conference and Exhibition will be under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamed Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait.

There is an increasing demand, in both the private and public sectors, to understand sustainable construction practices. This demand is driven by a realisation that sustainable practices ensures a healthy environment while contributing toward economic development and improving relationships with stakeholders. The conference will highlight the importance of Private and Public Sectors in contributing to the ‘Environment Friendly’ and ‘Sustainable development’ projects and establish relationship to exploit the possibilities and involvement in the sustainable development of the State of Kuwait. In terms of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) which is a key support tool for sustainable development, its implementation in projects can contribute to improved economic development and ensure equitable and sustainable use of the environment and natural resource use from projects for the benefit of present and future.

In keeping with the theme, “Evaluation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) & Projects” our efforts will concentrate on streamlining regulatory regimes, building private and public sector institutional capacity, and supporting the development of environmental performance indicators of companies. The exhibition which is to be held simultaneously will provide the opportunity to showcase the “state of the art know-how and technology and will also reflect every organization’s commitment to environment”.
